Before You Start

A compatible device

An Android TV box, a Google TV device, or a Fire TV Stick. TiviMate does not run on iPhone, iPad, Samsung, or LG TV operating systems.

Your login details

Your Xtream Codes details (server URL, username, password) or your M3U link, sent after your order is confirmed.

TiviMate is a player only. It does not come with channels; it plays the streams your IPTV subscription provides. If you are not sure which of your two login formats to use, the short answer is Xtream Codes when the app offers it. Our M3U vs Xtream Codes guide explains why.

Step 1: Install TiviMate

On Android TV and Google TV

Open the Google Play Store on the TV, search for TiviMate, and install it. It is listed as TiviMate IPTV Player.

On a Fire TV Stick

Search for TiviMate in the Amazon Appstore first. If it is not listed for your device or region, you can install apps from outside the Appstore with the Downloader app after allowing installs from unknown sources in the developer options. Our Firestick installation guide walks through that process screen by screen. Only download app files from the developer's official source.

Step 2: Add Your Playlist with Xtream Codes

  1. Open TiviMate. On first launch it shows an Add playlist button.
  2. Choose Xtream Codes as the playlist type.
  3. Enter the server address exactly as we sent it, including http:// and the port number if there is one.
  4. Enter your username and password. Both are case-sensitive, so check capital letters and watch for a trailing space.
  5. Select Next. TiviMate connects and shows how many channels, films, and series it found.
  6. Give the playlist a name you will recognize, then select Done.

With Xtream Codes, TiviMate usually pulls the TV guide automatically, so the guide should begin filling in within a minute or two.

Step 3 (Alternative): Add an M3U Link

  1. Choose Add playlist, then Enter URL.
  2. Type or paste the full M3U link. Typing a long link with a remote is tedious, so a free keyboard app on your phone that pairs with the TV can save time.
  3. Select Next, wait for the channel count, name the playlist, and finish.
  4. If the guide stays empty, open Settings, go to EPG, and add the EPG address from your welcome message.

Step 4: Settings Worth Changing

  • Hide categories you never watch. Long-press a group in the channel list to hide it. A shorter list loads faster and is easier to browse.
  • Set your favorites. Long-press a channel and add it to Favorites. You can make Favorites the first group you see.
  • Buffer size. Under the playback settings, a larger buffer can smooth out an uneven connection at the cost of slightly slower channel changes.
  • Automatic updates. In the playlist and EPG settings, choose how often TiviMate refreshes. Once a day is plenty for most people.

Step 5: Use the TV Guide and Catch-Up

Press the center (OK) button while watching to bring up the channel list, then open the TV guide view to see what is on now and next across all your channels. On channels that support catch-up, past programs show a small archive marker. Highlight one and press OK to watch it from the start. Our service keeps up to 7 days of catch-up on supported channels. Remember that catch-up playback in TiviMate requires its Premium upgrade.

Fixing Common TiviMate Problems

"Invalid username or password" or no channels found

Re-enter the details slowly. Most failures are a typo, a missing port number, or an extra space. If they still fail, follow our Xtream Codes and M3U error checklist.

Channels buffer or freeze

Increase the buffer size, try switching between the hardware and software decoder in the playback settings, and test your connection. Our IPTV buffering guide covers every step.

The guide shows the wrong times

Check that the date, time, and time zone are correct in your device's system settings. TiviMate also has an EPG time shift option if the guide is offset by a fixed amount.

TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro?

Choose TiviMate if you watch mostly live TV on an Android-based device and like a traditional channel guide. Choose IPTV Smarters Pro if you use different kinds of devices, including iPhone, iPad, computers, or Smart TVs that cannot run TiviMate; it also has a simpler layout for films and series. See our IPTV Smarters Pro Smart TV guide for that route.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is TiviMate available on iPhone, Samsung, or LG TVs?

No. TiviMate is built for Android-based TV devices such as Android TV boxes, Google TV devices, and Fire TV Sticks. On iPhone, iPad, Samsung, or LG TVs, use IPTV Smarters Pro or Smart IPTV instead.

Do I need TiviMate Premium?

The free version is enough to add a playlist and watch live channels. Features such as catch-up playback and managing several playlists are part of TiviMate's paid Premium upgrade, which is sold by the app developer and is separate from your IPTV subscription.

Why is the TV guide empty after I add my playlist?

The guide data may still be downloading. Wait a minute, then open Settings, go to the EPG section, and refresh it. If you added an M3U link, you may also need to add the EPG (XMLTV) address that came with your login details.

Can I use TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro with the same login?

Yes, you can save the same details in both apps. Only the number of screens on your plan can stream at the same time, so close one app fully before watching in the other if you have a single-screen plan.
